Afraid of sex?

So for the longest time I have had this weird fear when it comes to having sex. I’m 19 years old and a virgin. I want to do it but I’m to scared. All my friends think I’m stupid and that it’s just my anxiety but like I’m genuinely scared. I feel so incredibly safe with my boyfriend and we have been dating for a year. He is so sweet and knows that I’m scared so he never pressures me but I feel bad. We have been dating for a year and all we do is make out. Was this a thing for anyone else or am I just weird? I need advice 😔
