Can someone give me some insight PLEASE!

So I have been in prelabor for a few weeks now. This is baby #4. 2 weeks ago we had our second growth scan and baby was 8 pounds at 35 weeks. Contractions at times are very painful and regular then bam...they stop. Monday the doctor performed a membrane sweep which left me with painful contractions for about 12 hours but stayed at 10 minutes. Now today they have tapered off and sporadic but when I have them they are painful!

2 days ago baby was -1 station, dilated to a good 4 and 70% effaced. O feel so much pain and stabbing feelings but labor will not pick up and get into a pattern! I have walked, sex, baths, everything and nothing is working!

What are some things to try to get this going? I am now 37+2 but and have an induction set because baby is getting too big for me to hold and doc is trying to avoid a CS. I want to go on my own and not deal with a chemical induction.
