Another breastfeeding question

I just had my baby on the 2nd of July.

After many feeding sessions it became obvious he wasn't getting enough, if any, colostrum. So I've started giving him formula.

My question is, has anyone else had this happen and they end up getting a better supply of it or their milk comes in good?

I was so set on breastfeeding, I hate thinking I can't provide enough for my baby boy.

I've pumped some and very little comes out. I plan on continuing on pumping hoping my supply gets better, but have to be easy because my nipples hurt so bad. Any advice or experiences welcome please.
