Carpet cleaning question

So we’ve had issues with our leaking refrigerator our landlord finally is having someone replace our appliance on Monday. Well it’s leaked so much water in the last two months the carpet is so damn. What’s the best way to clean and dry it? Can there be mold underneath from that water constantly being there? Towels and paper towels did/do nothing. It smelled like a dirty rag I’ve scrubbed it with pinesol
