Is my baby teething?

Baby has been quite fussy lately and just noticed his gums looking like this. Wondering if it’s due to teething

I don’t see any teeth coming through those gums but teething starts deeper in and comes in stages.

I literally noticed the same looking thing on my boys upper gums this afternoon. I’m not sure if it’s new tho since I’ve been keeping an eye on the bottom gums all week expected to see a change since baby has been super fussy and not sleeping well all week. He used to be a good sleeper.  He has also upped his drooling and chewing game like crazy this week. He’s 17.5 weeks. 
I’ve been keeping an eye on the bottom since that’s where I read they usually get first teeth. I did read it’s rare but not totally odd to get top front teeth first. So maybe.... we have to just wait and see!!

Could be a leap, and top teeth wont be there for awhile! Check the bottom?

I don’t think those are teeth... bottom teeth almost always come in first. But the way you describe baby’s behavior sounds like teething.
