Help!!

My friend recently found out she was pregnant, took 2 test over the weekend both came back positive. They were very noticeable pink lines. Well last night she started having some spotting woke up this morning and it was like she started her period. She went to the hospital they said cervix was closed blood work was good she was deff pregnant kinda early but she had a cyst on her ovarys. That she might be on the verge of a miscarriage. And to not have sex till she seen her obgyn. Has anyone else been threw this? How did it work out?
