After trying to conceive for 5 years and having two miscarriages my husband and I have been talking about the possibility of adopting... well this opportunity has presented itself where one of his workers daughter is pregnant and was just going to surrender the baby after birth (she doesn’t believe in abortion and has a history of drug use so doesn’t want to keep it)... my husband’s work knows of our struggle and asked if we wanted to adopt the baby... he told his daughter about us and she’s beyond excited even said we can pick the baby’s name and that she would keep us involved... I’m skeptical just because it seems to easy

I know these nothing we can do legally until the baby is born but how do we protect ourselves in the long run?

I talked to my parents and they recommended getting the paperwork done prior to the birth with the stipulation of if mom wants to keep the baby and terminates the adoption within the allotted time (4 months for Tennessee) then she can do so... but this way we can safeguard ourselves against her trying to use us for money and pretty much have everything in place for when baby is born... I can’t believe we are doing this❣️
