Doggy Style Won’t Work

This is really embarrassing to say but my boyfriend and I have never had any other sex outside the missionary position. We talked and decided to switch it up and I brought up I wanna try doggy. He’s my first but I’m not his, but even with his past partners he’s only done missionary. We’ve tried to do doggy multiple times and for some reason it won’t work. He can’t get it in. It’s not a problem with me not being wet enough or anything, I tried different angles, and it still won’t work. I know I might get met with some mean comments but I really just want help, has this ever happened to anyone else? Please, I’m just trying to figure this out.
