Working Mammas: On average how much do you pay for daycare a month? FTM here 🙋🏼‍♀️

I just started scoping out daycares and I am trying to determine what’s normal. My husband was sticker shocked 😮 🤣.

I work from home full time (doing the same job I was doing before my daughter was born, just remotely) because there’s no way we can afford to pay anything for day care and we can’t afford a single income either. It’s so hard working and caring for my toddler - I must be insane to add another!! 🙈

I clicked the wrong one! 
We got to a center that is daycare and preschool. It’s $310/week for infants... and goes to $270 after 2 years old. We are due with our second coming up, and the infant price went up to $350/week 😭
I really like where we send our son though. It’s clean, organized, the staff are friendly and welcoming, wear uniforms, and my son thoroughly enjoys going. He’s not even 2 and is talking in 4 word sentences, knows all his shapes, colors, and ABCs. He gets to socialize with friends his age all day and I like that it provides structure. 
I wasn’t too keen on home daycares and don’t personally know someone who runs a reputable one. I feel like people are more accountable with others around 🤷🏽‍♀️

I am a teachers aide in a school for children with special need. Daycare costs would be more than 75% of my hourly wage, we have decided that I am better off staying home with the baby and when he or she is 6 months old start babysitting another child or two, most likely school age for the summer and before/after school once school starts again to make a little bit of money.

Also, if you don’t mind commenting what were some things you looked for, and what were things that made you stay away? I feel completely clueless and a little overwhelmed 😱.

$600 a month in my area with Active Duty Army discount. Luckily my husband is going to be staying home for a while. 😊

Daycare in my area costs between 800 to 1200 a month.

the cheapest (and worst) daycare in our area is $1100 a month but luckily I work for a school district and we have a childcare/learning center for staff kiddos that’s about $900 a month for my two year old! since I work in elementary after school childcare and am a substitute for the pre school I get half off so we’re only paying $460 a month for him. it’ll be a little more for this baby since it costs more for newborns!

I’m not using daycare now since I work night shifts and so does my husband so we switch off kids to avoid child care costs (at the expense of us sleeping ourselves) butttt back when I did use a daycare it was $260/week for one kid in the 3 year old room and I know it’s more expensive for the younger rooms, newborn to 12m room being most expensive

Around here full time is $500-$600 a week - more than 2k a month!
