16 Week Sonogram Purpose?

What’s the purpose of a sonogram at 16 weeks? I’m thinking of passing on it, but wasn’t sure if they are looking for something then. Thank you!

No idea. They usually have one between 18-20weeks for a anatomy scan never heard of a 16weeks one. Maybe just call and ask

I had one at 8 weeks to confirm pregnancy and viability, 14 weeks to determine gender, 20 week anatomy scan, and I’m about to have another one at 24 weeks because she didn’t cooperate so they could see all they needed to at the 20 week scan. I think I’m also going to pay for a 3D/4D one around 26-30 weeks. I love seeing my little one, so I don’t know why you’d want to turn it down!

My anatomy scan was at 16 weeks. And that’s an important one really, because they’re checking more than just the sex of the baby.

I’m having twins and I had an ultrasound at 16 weeks. But it was super quick- she just wanted to see the heartbeats and make sure babies were healthy.

Can I ask why would you pass up on it? I’m having one when I’m 17 weeks next month.

If you got the early scan and they didn’t get what they needed they’re probably having you go back now that you’re more ahead in pregnancy. Making sure baby is growing and such. They did it with my 2 around that time. Then they don’t do another one until the anatomy scan.
