Has anyone taken steroids to speed up baby’s lung maturity?

Has anyone had this done if so when and for what reason and what was the outcome if you already delivered?

With my first I went into pre term labor 2 or 3 times, it was 15 years ago lol... I got steroids and they stopped the contractions. It was scary but he ended up staying in until 10days after his due date, and was huge almost 9lbs 😁

I had 2 steroid injections over the weekend when I was admitted for pre-term contractions. I’m almost 34 weeks now. Hoping he’ll hold on a bit longer!

I was given the steroid shot at 30 weeks my last pregnancy as a precautionary. I am high risk due to incompetent cervix and had a stitch in place and on progesterone shots, all went smooth and had my son at 38 weeks, this pregnancy they will not be giving me the shot as my dr thinks it will be the same outcome. I say it doesn’t hurt to get the shot, I would rather be safe than sorry. This pregnancy has been harder in my body so I’m slightly nervous but we will see how it goes. When my son was born he sounded like a squealing piglet, it was the cutest!

I kept trying to go into preterm labor with my last baby. I got the shots for her lungs around 34 weeks. I gave birth at 37 weeks. She was a small baby, 5 lbs.. but her lungs did great and she only needed monitoring for her sugar levels. We went home the day after delivery.
