I want to make my own money

So I'm 14 and my sisters friend let's call her "Taylor" So Taylor said that she could get me a job at McDonalds and I can make 10 or 15 bucks an hour bc she is gonna be the manager I would just need to fill out an application. I told my mom (just to let you know my mom is kind of a deadbeat she doesn't give a fuck about me and my sisters but that's a story for later) and she told me "that you don't need your own money I have money" And I said "I don't want your filthy money you got that from drugs" She didnt care but I still filled out the application and I got the job I work part-time on the weekends was I wrong when my mom said no but I still got the job?
