Night terror/seizure? Baby went limp

My baby is 11 months old. Last night, he woke up at 9:00pm shrieking bloody murder. We ran into his room to pick him up, but his whole body was limp. He couldn’t support his head. His eyes were rolling to the back of his head. He wasn’t looking at us. He couldn’t latch onto the breast to feed or take a pacifier. Overall his muscle tone was very low. He continued to shriek the entire time and could not be calmed down. The episode lasted about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, he lifted his head and looked around at us, but was still crying.

I ended up calling the paramedics and by the time they arrived, my baby was calm and completely back to normal. All of his vitals were normal and he did not have a fever.

I brought him to the doctor today l, but they weren’t exactly sure what happened to him. They said it could be a seizure and suggested if it happens again that we go to the hospital to run some tests.

They also said it could be a night terror, but the fact that my son was limp was a bit unusual.

I am wondering if anyone’s child has experienced similar symptoms (baby’s body went limp). Was it a night terror, seizure, other?

That really freaked me out. Thank you in advance for sharing experiences.
