First period after giving birth?

I gave birth almost 3 months ago. I got my period 16 days ago and I’m still bleeding a little bit. Is this normal?

I’m on birth control and still spotting a little after getting my “period” on the pill. On day 11. 
I’ve read that it is normal though to have very erratic cycles for the first few months as your hormones are still trying to readjust on the pill or not.
