IUD isnt in the right place
So in May, i got the Paraguard. The insertion process was HORRIBLE. I got nauseous and felt like crying and i have a high pain tolerance. Beyond insertion, my body has seemed to deal with it pretty well. I cramp occasionally, nothing unbearable. I spot sometimes but my body has seemed to adjust really well. I had my 6 week checkup in June. I had the sonogram done and the nurse said it was a little low but she verified in as being in “the adequate position” my OBGYN seemed kinda uncomfortable with the fact it was low...i got a call later that day saying she would feel more comfortable if we just replaced it with a new one in the right position so it can be over 99% effective as it should. Since it’s non-hormonal, it has to be in the right spot. Today, as i was dreading the appointment, i got the new one in. She said it’s higher but it’s still not exactly where she wants it. She said she can see my uterus cramp up and it’s making it hard to put it where it needs to be. She’s hoping after my period passes it will kind settle in the right position. I have to go back in in 6 weeks and if it’s moved we have to look at different options. Has anyone had this problem? What’s another good option if it comes to it? I really don’t want the pill. I have so many friends with negative effects from the pill. It’s also not as effective as the IUD and my husband and i aren’t wanting to start a family for a good 4-5 years.
