Rectal temperature 😂 doctor story..

We were at my daughters doctor appointment for her vaccines. The doctor tells me if I suspect a fever, to take her temperature in her rectum.

Doctor: so, if ever you suspect a fever, the best way to take a babies temperature is in their rectum. Do you have a thermometer to do so?

Me (with a neutral but horrified face) hell no. Have you ever been pocked in the butt by mistake while having sex? It hurts and is not fun at all. I am NOT doing that to my baby.

Doctor: wow, that’s the first time someone gives me that reason for not taking the temperature in the rectum.
