Here in the UK we are advised to start brushing our babies gums before their first tooth cuts through, but with water.
Once their first tooth cuts through then start using baby tooth paste.
The tooth paste I use for my son is for 0-2 years. It's also safe for baby to swallow as babies dont know to spit tooth paste out.

I brush them with water as recommended by my pediatrician. He told me they don’t recommend using tooth paste until they have at least 8 teeth. My little one only has 2.

Okay, I’m curious what toothbrush you all are using?  All we have is a little cactus teether thing with a toothbrush end.

We tried with just water and it was a battle as soon as we tried the toms fluoride free strawberry one omg what a difference she loves getting teeth brushed now!
