Oral contraceptives

Anyone start oral contraceptives around 5 weeks PP? I just got my prescription. Do you start the pack right away? My doctor rushed me out of my appointment- Guess I'm less important since I'm no longer pregnant. I am crampy today and actually feel like I'm going through PMS. I wonder if I'll have a period toward the end of my 28 day pill pack too or if I'll be irregular for a little while.
