TTC - Very unsure!

I had a miscarriage early March and got my first period 6th June. Was meant to get my period Friday (5th July) but still nothing, took a test and came back negative. I’m usually very consistent with my periods and they’re almost always on time. Can a test come up negative in the earliest stages on pregnancy? Should I just test again next week if I still don’t get my period by then?
