Are we wrong?

So my husband and I live in a 2 bed house, our room and our daughters room. My parents have my grown brother and his family, which is my brother, his wife and 3 kids living with them. Have been for a year. My mom is apparently tired and stressed with them and asked me today if she can come stay with us for a few weeks. We like our quiet house and privacy. We have no where for her to sleep or anything. My husband wouldn't go for that. He's a very private person, if she comes we can't do anything we do now. I'm sure people know what I mean. I told het all this and now she's pissed at us for not letting her come stay. She's not even talking to me now. Are we wrong for telling her no?

She can really easily solve her own problem by telling your brother his time is up 🤷🏼 so I don't feel sorry for her.... A few weeks is a big imposition when she's got no real reason she needs to come. Maybe tell her to come for a long weekend or something?

Nope not wrong, this is a situation that she can easily fix by having her grown son and family move out of their house. If you allow this now she will be back more and more frequently when she needs a “break” from them

I could never turn my mother away like that. But my mother and I are very close and she is an amazing person. It’s up to you if you were wrong or not. I personally wouldn’t be able to live with telling my mom she could not stay with me. But it’s your house and your relationship with your mom.

No you’re not wrong at all!!!! Me & my mother have very different views on life, so if she stayed with me I’d have to change my life around completely so I understand that you & your husband want your privacy. Especially because there’s no extra room to begin with! It’s not like you don’t love her! She’s very wrong for not talking to you

I would be concerned that "only a few weeks" could become a more permanent situation, and you could lose control over your home and your lifestyle very quickly.
Politely but firmly hold your ground against your mother's request. If you want to show that you care, gift your mom a night away at a nice bed and breakfast or something, to get away from the chaos.

I mean, it just seems like you don’t have a reason to say no aside from the fact that you don’t want her there. Which, if you have a good relationship with your mom, isn’t very nice and I can understand why she’s be upset by it. But I understand your need for your own space as your own family. 
I understand not letting her stay for weeks on weeks, but letting her come for a week and see you and your family...I dunno, I don’t think that’s hard. She’s been so wrapped up in your brother’s family and probably feels like she hasn’t been able to focus on you. Just my thoughts 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not unreasonable to want your space and it's not mean of you to tell her no. She doesn't like being in her own home anymore? She should kick her son and his family out! He needs to grow up and provide for his wife and children and stop depending on your parents. A couple of weeks is a big imposition! It's no small request.

I personally wouldn't ever turn my mother away. Yes, she needs to get your brother and his family out of her house but all she's asking for is a few weeks of peace and quiet. You could compromise with a few days or a week. She's your mother, I'm sure she's done everything for you.
