Announcing miscarriage?

I was quite early so we didn’t tell anyone except close friends and family about the baby. Is it weird to announce that our son is a big brother to an angel? I just have this feeling as if I need to honor this baby that I’ve lost, I feel like I’m keeping him/her a secret. Has anyone else felt this way?

When I am someday given the gift of a rainbow baby, I am planning to announce that the baby is a rainbow baby.

My husband contacted the people we told and explained we’d lost our baby when I miscarried. I was too much of an emotional wreck to talk to anyone, and fell into a depressive episode for a while. I think you should do what works best for you

I miscarried at 10 weeks, before we announced publicly, and I talk about it all the time. I felt like not talking about it made it seem shameful. It’s an important part of my story, and sharing has helped so many other women open up about their losses. It was hard at first, but I feel good about the fact that everyone in my life knows about our loss. It has actually helped me heal as well.

If you want to do that then you certainly can. a friend miscarried a few years ago and wrote publicly about it - I still remember how powerful it was.
