Getting your shit together

My bf & I are in 2 very different stages in life... i feel like he still doesn’t have his shit together. He’s basically living paycheck to paycheck & I feel like the money he has it goes towards things that they shouldn’t... I just feel like he lacks so much on administrating his Money. I know maybe some of you will think that’s it none of my business and I agree half way... one side I’m like it’s his money I’m independent & make my own and it doesn’t affect me as much now but the other half is like well it will start to affect me.... we’ve been together for 2 1/2 years am I wrong for being disappointed for this whole situation?

Also, I make more than him & that honestly doesn’t bother either of us (2019) but he just needs to learn to save I just don’t know how to tell him or talk to him.. I don’t want to be too harsh but I also want to slap some sense into him. How should I address this?
