When will my milk come in??

I just had my baby on Tuesday. I had to be induced 2 weeks early due to high blood pressure. She latched right away on one side and I’ve been working with her on the other. I have had to supplement with formula and a tube because she was starving! I’d really love to be able to just latch her on without hooking up the formula and tube. Any other moms go through this? How soon did your milk come in?

Drink a ton of water and by a ton I was told around a gallon a day. Between feeding sessions you need to pump between 30-45 minutes. I had a fabulous nurse how may be me start pumping directly after my baby was born. He was 3 weeks early due to gestational diabetes and had to go to the NICU where I couldn't see him until an hour later. I continued to do this until he was around 9 months old and then just switched to exclusively breastfeeding. I wanted to have a supply built up incase for some reason I had to start working again, had a date night, or if my milk started to dry, I'd have a stash. Worked like a charm! By the time I started  exclusively breastfeeding, I had a deep freezer full of milk to fall back on. I officially stopped breastfeeding my son when he was almost 22 months. Good luck mama! Stay strong and if for any reason you don't produce a lot of milk, just remember, fed is best! Btw, from the pic, motherhood really looks good on you!

3-4 days. I read our other comments. Definately buy a 20$ manual pump from Walmart to get extra stimulation going while supplementing

If you haven’t yet, try seeking out a lactation consultant. They were so helpful. I have inverted nipples and one was flat so my daughter had a very hard time latching. They worked with us and we have successfully breastfeeding for almost a year! On my more difficult side I tried pumping for a minutes before latching her one because my pump pulled my nipple out more so she had something to grab onto. The LC gave me a shield that I used for a few weeks. Once my baby got bigger and stronger she was able to manage it one her own. Good luck!! Just keep doing what feels right for your and your baby. My milk came in at day 3 (I went into labor naturally at 39 weeks).

My milk came on day 5. Keep it up and let baby suckle at your breast as much as possible!

Mine came when I got home, I think 4 or 5th day. Gave her only formula first days cause she latched bad on both my nipples and they were in blood, I am not kidding. So till my milk came I gave her formula and then for 4-5 weeks I expressed the milk and gave her the bottle. When my breast finally healed she didn’t want them so I tried every day for like a month till she finally latched properly and started to breastfeed again. But then, because I used the pump to early, I was overproducing milk and my breast were always engorged, I had to pomp before every feeding a little so my baby could eat normally. It was hard for me, first baby.. I was so worried I would never breastfeed again, it took a lot of work but I did it!🤱

Well in my personal experience of being induced at 35 and 37 weeks i had it come in 3 days after birth with both. But I’d ask if they can give you something to kick start your milk production some places offer it some do not
