Christening - are godparents necessary?

The vicar has agreed to christen my daughter at our Methodist church, however there isn’t anyone I feel as though I’d like to ask to be god parents... is it possible to alter this tradition? Has Anyone else done this or know of anyone that has?

My daughter is getting Christened and we have to have god parents. The vicar should tell you. We have to have at least two females and one male but can have more. Parents can be god parents.

Not sure about methodist, but they're essential in Catholic baptism. Ask the vicar?

I personally think you can still get your baby christened without choosing God parents. I wanted to get my son christened and I wouldn't of chosen any God parents.
