Super heavy period after miscarriage???

So I had a miscarriage June 19th and I’m just now (I think anyways) am getting my first period. I haven’t stopped bleeding old brown blood since the event finished but yesterday it started being bright red again. Is it normal to be SUPER heavy the first time back?? I’m bleeding through “super” tampons every 2 hours and ruining every underwear I have 🙃 not sure if this is normal or not??

Whoa! We’re almost the same. My miscarriage started on June 16. Exactly 4 weeks later (this Sunday) I started bleeding heavily again (bright red blood with some clots). It totally freaked me out but I was reassured by the Dr when I called on Monday that it was likely my period (they had been tracking my HCG and it was “1” last week). Thankfully it was really only pretty heavy Sun and Mon and it’s almost done now. They said it’s not unusual to have heavier bleeding for your first period after a miscarriage. It can’t hurt to give your Dr a call to check in though. Hope it’s over soon for you!
