Type of birth control after pregnancy

I feel like I’ve seen this a bunch, but I can’t find the post about it... what kind of birth control did you get after having your baby? I want to get the mirena iud eventually but my cervix was kind of traumatized from being induced, and I also had a c section so my body just hurts. Did you just use condoms, or did you get something immediately? I’ve heard terrible things about the depo shot so I won’t get that, and I for sure won’t remember to take a pill every day.
