Ladies help

So I got engaged December 08,2018 and got married June 15,2019 my mother in law gave my husband an engagement ring to him for me when he proposed to me I had to have to resized 2 sizes down and I absolutely love the ring but my only problem I don't like is how high it stands I don't want to hurt his or his mom's feelings but telling them that it gets caught on my clothes and such when I change I scratch myself with it from time to time and we are trying to have kids and I am scared once we have a baby I will end up getting the baby with it how can i go about telling him with out hurting his feelings that i don't like how high it stands i feel like if i tell him that he's gonna feel i don't like the ring when I do!!!
