Ojo??

Question

Do any mommas on here believe in ojo? If so how do you cure your LO If you believe they have it and what preventative measures do you take (like the evil eye bracelet)? Here lately my girl is inconsolable and seems to fuss so much in public. A lot of times people will look at her but never ask to touch her or talk to her. My best friend suggested maybe she has ojo (comes from a strong Mexican background).

Why not ask her pediatrician why she’s fussing? It’s probably not supernatural or superstitious lol

My son has always had the red band and I’ve changed it as he’s grown even I and my husband wear one ummm I’m not to religious but I’ve heard my family say placing a clear glass cup with water under the bed helps as well as lighting a white candle 🕯 and there is a prayer you can do it’s the one of St Luis Beltran

I do believe in it!
In my country we call it “mal de ojo” or “estar ojeado” (eyes evil / being “eyed”).
To cure it you need to contact a person (my aunt in my case) and you give the name of the “eyed” person (in this case your kid). They say the name out loud with some prayers and if they have to yawn it means your kid was “eyed” and he’s getting “cured”.
I always think better safe than sorry and it’s not like I’m hurting anybody hahaha.
Also, tie a thin red ribbon around his ankle or wrist to prevent people “eyeing” your kid.

I am Mexican and everybody used to warn me about it but I never listen and my baby was fussing all the time but it was because I was drinking milk and caffeine as soon as I stopped thing got easier and no I didn’t let anybody touch my baby I am more scared of sickness or germs to affect the babies but my cousin told me to use an egg without cracking it and pass it thru the baby’s body while you pray but like I said I never did that. Now I have a 1 month old and he is much calmer that my first baby and so each kid is different I don’t think it has to do with el ojo
