Outdoor Cats

Toast • *Black Lives Matter* and Happy Pride Month everyone!

It’s 1 am where I live and I’m extremely irritated. You see I have a pet bunny and he lives outside, please don’t come at me over that he’s very happy and enjoys the space. The problem is people let their cats run around all over the place. I just had to chase one out of my yard that was chasing my bunny when I was about to sleep. My family has an indoor cat so we have cat spray bottles which I took one and chased the cat out of the yard spraying it with the bottle until it jumped over the fence and away from my yard.

Dogs can stay put in a yard because they aren’t as agile as cats. But cats go around everywhere climbing on everything. Before we had our bunny this wasn’t a problem because they’d chase the mice that used to be in our yard. But now they chase him around and I’m worried that they might catch him and kill him. How would you solve this situation? Did I handle the situation appropriately?

Edit: I was hotheaded and didn’t phrase this well which probably didn’t make this as clear as I wanted. So I’ve deleted some parts that after thinking it over realized I was being ridiculous. Here is some background information as well, I’ve had my rabbit for 3 years and he has lived outside in all 3 of those years. This hasn’t been a problem until very recently like within the past month. Our yard is secured so he can’t burrow under the fence, and he has a lot of spots to hide from eagles but he’s a decent sized rabbit so he is about as big as a cat.
