How to burp? Help

Question

I can’t seem to burp him, I can’t do regular over the shoulder since he’s only 10 days and still has cord healing.  
I just massage his back for 10 minutes and gently pat, but he’s just sitting there like in a spa. Then I lay him down and here goes hiccups right away ( it’s air build up, I know cause it happening after each feeding). 
Any tips or tricks? Please share what you do. 
We are eating breast milk through dr brown anti colic preemie bottle.

Sit him on your lap and hold his jawline with your one hand to support his head and pat his back with the other. They’re pretty tough and you can pat pretty hard. You can look up some YouTube videos that will show you how to do this really well.

I've never heard of not doing over the shoulder due to the umbilical cord stump as it shouldn't bother them with there being no nerves there but I always can get mine to burp sitting up at an angle while supporting her chin and patting firmly.

Every baby is different. My first was not a burper and he was the happiest and easiest baby. I just kept him up right for 20 minutes after feedings.

Try patting him on the butt while he’s over your shoulder. I know this sounds weird but my mother in law told us to do it and it works for my baby
