Do you leave your babies unattended (in a safe space) for short periods of time?

I'm talking like 8 months and under. Maybe in their crib, play mat, or strapped into a swing or high chair while you run outside to grab a package or into another room down the hall for something, etc.

I wouldn't leave them just laying on the floor where they could crawl off or something. But I think at some point youre going to have to leave them unattended in a safe content spot for a few seconds while you do other things. I think baby will be okay for 20 seconds without you staring at them while you reach out the door for a package 
I mean, I'm all for child safety but like, it seems a bit extreme to literally never, ever leave them unattended for any reason for any short time at all. They won't spontaneously combust in less than a minutes time alone

Highchair and crib/pack and play? Yes absolutely. 
Play mat? Maybe. But with more frequent check ins
Bed? No. I’d be worried they’d fall off

Yes, I put my three week old to sleep on the bed in the room and I’ll go out to the living room and hang out with the other kids or if I need to do chores around the house.

I’ve sat my girl down unattended in her swing since we first brought her home at 2 weeks old. I can’t hold her all day I got shit to do lol I would never get anything done... she’s almost 4 months now and I leave her on her play mat on the ground and she entertains herself I check in on her every 10-15 minutes or so. I usually use that time to wash bottles and clean my room, take out garbage or make lunch. She’s fine. I don’t leave her on my bed though.

Yes, independent time is good for babies of all ages. Both of my kids loved having some time alone sitting in their swing watching the mobile as babies then they graduated to the jumper.

Yes! My baby is 3 months old and rolls from his belly to his back already so I don’t leave him on my bed or anywhere that he can fall off of. I put him on his play mat on the floor, his sit me up seat, or his mamaroo. Or if he’s sleeping, I put him in his bed. If I sat and held him all the time, my house would be a disaster, we wouldn’t have clean clothes, he wouldn’t have clean bottles, we wouldn’t eat or anything.

Yes I left my little one (now 11 months) in her play area from 2months for a few seconds to run to the bathroom. I would make sure my dogs came with me or were outside. I trust my dogs but still don't like to leave her alone with them.

I leave my one month old on the bed while I go to the bathroom or take a shower. My best friend just sticks her baby in the pack and play since she’s mobile and it’s fine.
