We had our sweet Wesley Ford at 34 weeks and 5 days yesterday July 20th. I was having pretty consistent contractions late Friday night, we went in to L and D 2:30am Saturday to get checked out and I went from closed to 1cm and 30% effaced within an hour. Our NicU in town wasn’t equipped for babies born before 36 weeks so I was taken by ambulance to our closest major city an hour away. By the time I got there, the 2 meds they gave me to try to stop the contractions weren’t working and I was already at a 2. Almost immediately was taken into surgery for my third c-section and he was here! He was put on oxygen and a Cpap machine to help his breathing. He was taken off oxygen about an hour later because his stats were already improving and has been slowly trying to wean off the Cpap today. I have been pumping, but was told I should be able to nurse him tomorrow when all the contraptions are off him and he’s in a crib!!! He’s such a trooper and I can’t wait to have him with me. I just still can’t believe he’s here!

2 days old and off everything, just trying to get him to stay awake long enough to eat but he’s already a pro! :)
