Father being present while giving labor?

Due date is almost near! My stepfather who I refer to as my real father he has raised me I am very close with, I have ended my relationship with my mother so I would not like her present. I thought about my dad being present... did any of you ladies have your dad present or think it’s kind of weird? Aside from my significant other my little 16yr old sister might be present but that is all. Just wasn’t sure if I should extend that out to him.

It’s weird. No reason he needs to be in the room while you push a baby out of your vagina. Your decision though. 🤷‍♀️

I was ina tub and up and moving in a hospital gown and there wasn’t a lot of privacy to be had... I wouldn’t have been comfortable with my dad in there. When I was in the bed and covered relaxing (after my epidural) then he could have visited but I didn’t want anyone but hubby in there while I was pushing

Kinda weird imo. I wouldn’t want my dad in the room while I’m spread eagle lol. He can wait outside and come in afterwards.

My dad was there the whole time I was in labor, except for checks and when it was time for me to start pushing!

I think it would be totally fine as long as he didn’t watch the process lol , and I’m sure he would love to be a part of it.

My dad has always been there but went to the waiting room for cervical checks and when it was time to push. Just make sure you communicate what you want him present for and when you would like him to wait outside (if that's even something you want).

It’s whoever makes YOU comfortable while in labor. Just because it’s weird to Susan down the block doesn’t mean shit if it’s what gets you through labor.
