Anyone else with preeclampsia?

I was diagnosed right at 37 weeks early this week after failing my 24 hour urine collection. My doctor was concerned because I have been gaining a lot of fluid weight rapidly. Blood pressure is elevated but not crazy. I go to the doctor this Friday and wondering if I should expect her to induce me straight away? I am noticing my blood pressure trending up and a slight headache (but may be stress as well!) Thanks for any insight!

I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension starting at 37 weeks. It stayed stable up until 39 weeks and my doctor told me to inform him if I had any other symptoms (headache, swelling more than normal, excessive weight gain, etc). The next morning I woke up with a mild headache so I called and they had me come in for induction (I had been having real contractions for days already). By that time it developed into pre-eclampsia and my BP shot up to 163/120 (seizure and stroke range). My kidney function went down to 50% and my body was working too hard to keep itself stable so I wasn’t able to dilate much. I was in labor for 75.5 hours before having a C-section.

Answer

It may depend on how it has progressed. Mine got really bad in a matter of a week so i got induced at 34weeks and 5days
