How to check cm?

So I know you just stick fingers up there but..... when I do it I dont get anything. I mean not as much as the pics I see here. And I try to go farther in and I noticed my cervix is like non existant lol. It has no end !!!!! 
Am I checking wrong or do I just not have enough.

Clean your hands with soap and water. Crouch into a deep squat and insert index and middle finger. You should feel your cervix toward the back of your vaginal wall. Spread your fingers on either side of your cervix and then close them again before pulling them out, the cm will be "caught" in between your fingers.

Stick your finger a little further up until you feel a little "ball" if you will. When you're ovulating it'll be really high up and super duper soft. You'll get the hang of it!
