Cosleeping mamas, when did your child decide they were okay with sleeping in their own bed? If you had to say “enough is enough” when did you decide to finally kick them out?

My son is 3, and I’m very indifferent about it. It’s more of a developmental want as he does not fall asleep on his own and even his 18 month old sister does and has been for a long time, in her own bed. I need him to sleep before I do and in his own bed so I can get things done and have some mommy (and daddy) time.

I put the crib together after I got pregnant again (he was 13 months) and I couldn't deal with the moving! Lol he was driving me crazy. He's been fine ever since, I think I took it harder than he did.

So, long story, but we had/have a cosleeping bed that was not mommy and daddy’s bed.  So they never really slept in “our” bed. I guess it was more like I slept in their bed.  But it was in our room. 
Anyway, the 3 year old and the 18 month old still share that bed, but I am spending less time there and we just (2 days ago) moved the bed to their own room. The 3 year old usually sleeps through the night and the 18 month old still wakes to nurse sometime between 1am and 3am.  Sometimes I nurse and leave and sometimes I just stay and snuggle them until morning.  They haven’t had any issue with the transition to the new room at all.

I thought my son would never sleep through the night alone! We started really pushing it when I was due to have another baby.
We have the same routine every day, (bath books bed) we hold him for a minute, lay him in his bed, then tell him we'll come check on him in a little bit. We did that every couple minutes until he was asleep. That way he knew we were right there even though he was alone.

I moved my first daughter into her own room at 10 weeks old, when I went back to work. It was a hard 2-3 nights, but then she was totally fine. She just had to get used to it. It was good like that until she was about 4.5, and we moved in with my in-laws. We bought their house from them, and all lived together while they built a new house. 
We sent my daughter to stay with them for a week, while we finished packing up the house & move, and my sweet MIL would sleep with my daughter each night, because we always let her sleep with us when we came to visit, and because she missed us.  After we got there, I tried to get her into her room alone again, but MIL kept saying how sad she was for our daughter, and how it was no problem, etc, it quickly became a nightly challenge, and I would end up sleeping with her, to prevent a fight in front of the in-laws, and to not have her in there every night (not because i have anything against her or anything, but more because I felt it would be easier if it was me, since they were moving out, eventually)
Anyway, cut to a year later, I had spent most nights in my daughters room, with my husband sleeping alone. Was not good for our sex life, that’s for sure!! After the in-laws moved out, I tried hard to get our daughter sleeping alone again, and it has been a HUGE struggle. Eventually my husband said he’d rather we both sleep in here with him, than him continue sleeping alone, so I gave up. I was about 4 months pregnant at the time, and so exhausted.  
After another few months, I tried again, noting that once the baby came, she wouldn’t want to be in here at night, with baby crying, etc...  still didn’t work. I was afraid if I waited too long, she would blame the baby for not being able to sleep with us, and make it harder for the transition from only child.
Nope. Baby is a month old now, and we are all in the same room. She sleeps right through the baby crying, and me nursing, etc.  She doesn’t seem to mind at all. So, I lost again. Guess she will stay in our room forever. And guess I’ll never have sex again! 🤪

much earlier like a 6 months or a year to avoid issues of bed refusal when older. plus id want my sex life back.

My son was less than a year when we transitioned him. Started at 8 months I think then he had surgery and regressed to only sleeping in our bed. Then by 10/10.5 ish months he was back fully in his own bed. 14 months now and he’s sleeping in his own bed still
