Do they still check for dilation if you’re having a c section?

Coming up on my 37 week appointment. We’ve decided a c section what’s best. But will they still check to see if I’m dilating?

Mine is still checking me and im having a c section in 10 days. She's checking me because if i dilate to a certain point, we are doing it sooner. Im 1 cm now. I also have HSV-2 and even though im on valtrex, she does not want to let my water break before c section.

My Dr is because I’m getting a c-section she needs to know if I’m in/going in to Labor. She checked me for the first time at 36 weeks

Not where I’m from. Unless you’ve obviously gone in to labour and it’s an emergency. But then we don’t check for dilation at all in The UK until labour has commenced or when getting your sweep at 40 weeks if you chose to

My doctor refuses to check- it’s pointless. You can walk around dilated for weeks. Im also at the number 2 hospital in America so trust her on that. She said it’s painful for me and tells her nothing.

I’m 34 weeks and I was checked because of consistent contractions and I’m already dialated to a 1. We’re going to try for a Vbac If i go into labor by myself but we’re still scheduling a c-section Incase i don’t.
