Boobs haven’t changed!?

Almost 36 weeks pregnant and starting to get nervous about breastfeeding.  I haven’t had any leakage or any signs or pains that would indicate my breasts are getting ready or starting to make colostrum. Anyone else have this and was successfully able to breastfeed? Maybe I’m a late bloomer? 😂

With my twins I never leaked a drop or had any signs of change before birth. After they were born I would pump the tiniest little drops and worried at first we might have trouble. My milk came in around day 3-4, and boy did it come in 😱 I nursed my two babies for 3 years AND donated milk to two local families. Don’t worry, leaking colostrum isn’t an indication of breastfeeding success 💛

Not that unusual. Your body will figure it out, especially as you get closer. I didn’t begin leaking colostrum until 38-39 weeks with my first son, and with my second son I started at 26w. Some women barely leak at all up until birth and are much more successful at breastfeeding than I ever was. Don’t sweat it!

Mine don’t leak on their own but I can easily squeeze colostrum out but never produce enough milk to breastfeed exclusively so everyone is different. I wouldn’t worry about it until it’s time to worry about it.

With my first, nothing like that happened until after the baby was born. I breastfed for 1 year. This time around I’ve noticed a tiny bit of colostrum but only in the shower (not enough to notice day to day on my clothes or anything).

Just because you aren't leaking doesn't mean there's nothing there. Definitely do some research about breastfeeding and how it works. It will definitely ease your mind especially in the first 6-8 weeks when breastfeeding can be hard. If you have time to find or order this book it will be very helpful. There's lots of great information. Good breastfeeding education and support will help you be successful 😊

I never had any leakage, massive swelling, nothing nothing nothing. I have successfully fed 2 kids and have also donated milk as well. My boobs got HUGE and leaky and full of milk about 1 week after birth. Don’t count yourself out yet!!!
