Hungry or need to suck- help!

Hi all,

My 5 week old is extremely fussy at night. I have her on probiotics and mylicon. I am doing a combination of feeding from a bottle and breast to keep her satisfied. With her being so fussy and constantly popping off my boobs I am struggling to tell if she is actually hungry vs wanting to suck to soothe her tummy.

My question is she would spit out the pacifier and cry if she was actually hungry right? I’m worried I’m somehow curving her appetite with the pacifier.

I will say she is still having plenty

of wet diapers and is gaining weight fine.

Just a smidge worried about pacifier use!
