Has anyone ever dated a marine in basic training???

I know in all basic training, recruits aren’t allowed to have their phones so they can just write letters....

But anyways, the guy I’m really into had to go to basic at the worst timing five days ago

It’s like we ended on a cliff hanger, we never established what we are but he asked if I wanted him to write me, so I said yes because I’m crazy about him

He texted me until the minute they took his phone away...

It was a combination of sexts and cute texts like

“you’re MINE when I come back”

and

“Just wait, I’ll be back soon”

and

“now I have to go, I’m sorry. Goodnightttttttt, I’ll write you soon don’t worry cutie”

And now I’m just sitting at home missing him, but he’s going to be gone for three months. We never said anything about exclusivity, however, I AM crazy about him and can’t see myself with another guy at the moment. I’m scared I’m going to waste three months waiting for this guy who might not have the same feelings when he comes back. I know he would have to leave again, but if the feeling was mutual, it would be worth it.

I was planning on using his letters as a way to decide how I really feel and what I’m going to do, but the problem is that I don’t know how long it’s gonna take for one to come.

He’s been gone five days, and I know it takes a lot longer than that. I can also get his mailing info from a friend but I don’t want to do that just yet...

I was thinking maybe I wait a month and if nothing comes then I could write him??

Is that a good amount of time or should one come sooner? Or later?
