Preganacy and metformin

Hello ladies I need to ask you a quick question about taking metformin during pregnancy as I am polycystic ovaries and have been on metformin for years now I got pregnant And it’s my first trimester and the doctor said to keep taking metformin but I am so worried if it’s harmful

For the baby ! The doc said it’s safe but still I am very worried. Have you guys ever took that during pregnancy and do you think it was safe for the baby was the baby healthy ? Please share your experiences and thoughts!
