Chemical?

This month my period came a week early which was odd, and it was extremely painful. Usually my first day is medium flow, second day it’s lighter then by the end of the third day there is nothing. I’m on day 4 of heavy bleeding now, but it’s a really weird consistency, I use a menstrual cup so I’m pretty familiar with what my period usually looks like and it’s usually pretty liquid. Now it’s kind of mucous-ey looking and stringy with clots. I didn’t do any testing because my period came so early, but does this sound like it was a chemical? It’s just so off, everything about this period is weird
