Does dilation hint anything?

2cm and 50% effaced does this mean baby might come early or does it mean absolutely nothing?? I’m 36 weeks 3 days

Ive been 3cm for the past three weeks, i will be 40 weeks as of this friday. It depends on your body 🤷🏾‍♀️

I was 4cm for three weeks with my son and 5cm for one week with my daughter. I refuse to get checked this time because it will just stress me out. Dilation means nothing to me. But to some moms it can. It’s so hard cause everyone is so different.

It means absolutely nothing. Baby could come or could wait for weeks.

My midwife and OB told me yesterday that for FTM/first time vaginal deliveries (for those who ever labored) they don’t consider dilation a good indicator of how things could go (although it can allow for a sweep), but that effacement is more telling to them. They were both very excited yesterday because I had gone from 0 to 70% effaced in 6 days. I didn’t think that meant much of anything but apparently it does🤷‍♀️

I was told that For FTMs, dilation isn’t really a good indicator of anything. For second+ it can be more telling.

I was 1 cm..36 weeks
37 weeks 1cm &half 
38 weeks 3cm..I'm now 39 weeks idk..know yet till friday hope I'm 4cm..after I get to 4cm..I will be going in the hospital, by u dilation around about that time is normal,
