Potential labor question.

I'm a first time mom and I'm currently 37+2 weeks. I saw the ob today and I am 2cm dilated, 60% effaced and already have a bloody show. I didnt feel any contractions but he recorded them on the monitor. He said he gave it the greenlight but was sending me home. He said grab some lunch and start monitoring any contractions because as soon as I am 5min apart he wants me to go immediately to the hospital. So am I in like early labor or something or not because he seemed to answer me without answering me. I'm confused, excited, scared, and so unsure of anything right now. Anyone have any advice?
