Pregnancy stopped developing?
So yesterday I went for my first scan and came out with more questions than answers. Based off of when I got 2 positive tests I had to have been at least 8 weeks pregnant but at the scan all that was visible of an embryo was a fetal pole measuring 3.2mm, this gives the gestational age of 5.5 to 6 weeks. Due to the fetal pole being less than 5mm there was no visible heartbeat. This was via a transvaginal scan, not abdominal one so this has as much detail as I'm going to get. I see my midwife on Wednesday and plan on asking her about it as the hospital I was scanned at gave me absolutely no information aside from what the fetal pole measured (I know about embryo development which is how I know gestational age etc).
I'm pretty certain my pregnancy has stopped developing but the hospital aren't telling me anything until a follow up scan in 2 weeks time. I believe it has stopped developing due to the tests suggesting no less than 8 weeks but the scan suggesting no more than 6 weeks. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any opinion at all on this? I would like others opinions on this, simply because I feel so in the dark with how little the hospital itself has deemed fit to tell me. I would just like to be able to properly prepare myself for the next scan if I'm going to get the news I'm expecting.
