Brown discharge at 35 weeks?

I don’t want to post a picture of it, but I just had a gush of brown discharge this morning. It was decently thin, but creamy, so not like a mucus plug or anything. I called the doctor on call and he said that it sounds normal. Has anyone experienced brown discharge like that this late in pregnancy?

Also, I haven’t had any contractions or anything. Just normal pregnancy pains and discomfort. I went to the hospital a week and a half ago because the doctor thought I was leaking amniotic fluid but the test they ran came back negative.
