When to call the doctor...

I’m pretty sure i have food poisoning.. I’ve had diarrhea all day at least once an hour. When would I need to call the doctor for fluids?

Are you able to drink water or Gatorade without vomiting? If so, just wait it out. If you can’t drink and have diarrhea also then i would go in if you start feeling dizzy/tired (more than you do with feeling sick)

If you think your getting dehydrated you can go to an ER just to get an IV hooked up. Sometime even urgent cares will set up an IV for you. After a bag or 2 of fluids you will start feeling better. It’s all about hydration with this kind of sickness

You only get fluids if you can’t keep a junk bag down for over 24 hours. If you’re not vomiting you’ll be alright. The food poisoning will run its course, just stay hydrated

I had food poisoning while pregnant.  Doc said to stay very hydrated and as long as you are peeing, that is good.  That said, still call and let them know.

I think in extreme cases you can and should take immodium, just call your doctor and ask.
