Contractions??

So coincidentally my other half and I went to a birthing class (it was amazing) but in class I started having this lower belly pain it felt like a radiating pain and kind of like a pulled muscle. On and off my back would ache which wasnt totally uncommon after being in the same position for a while. But we've been home since 6 or so its 11 now and I have long drawn out back aches and and aching in my lower abdomen that also radiates... are these contractions? Braxton hicks? Back labor? Wtf?! In class she said I'd be able to time them.. but the back aching is getting in the way of noticing the front pains coming and going
