Story time💜
Hey mamas!! Now that we are home and rested if like to share our birth story.
On Thursday evening we arrived at the hospital to begin our induction process. I was 39w and 4d and my body just wasnt progressing any. My cervix was way posterior and baby was sideways. At about 9 i got the first half of the Cytotec to begin the process of trying to thin and soften my cervix before starting the pitocin the following morning. Around mid night i began having mild contractions in my back. They were very irregular and coming every 2-5 minutes and lasting 30-60 seconds. Around 3 a.m. they came in to check me and I has maybe a 2. It was hard to tell because my cervix was still way high and still facing my tailbone. Y'all, when i say it was so uncomfortable when they checked me each time due to being so posterior, thats un understatment. It felt like they had to go elbow deep to get up in there! After being checked the nurse phoned my dr who decided againt the second half of the cytotec and chise to start the pitocin at 4 a.m. that the contractions really started picking up in intensity. Back labor is no joke. My dr came in around 7:30 and checked me again, I was at a 3 and my cervix had only turned a slight bit but she was able to break my water. They went ahead and gave me a dimeraol shot and phenergan, which didnt help woth the pain but made me super sleepy since I hadnt slept all night. At 8 they checked again and i was a 4 so they ordered my Epidual. That was a God send! I didnt get to have one with my first, she was all natural. Once that Epidual kicked in I SLEPT thru every contraction. I woke up for them to check me about 930 and I was at an 8. At 10 they came back in and I was almsost a full 10, never feeling anything. My dr made it at 10:15 and got everything together and we started pushing at 10:20. After 11 minutes and 10 good pushes our daughter entered the world!! (I pushed for 3 hours woth my first and had to have a foreceps delivery with an episiotomy bc she was stuck) no tearing or lacerations anywhere. I really couldnt of asked for a better experience. ❤💜
