It starts Thursday afternoon. I had my membrane sweep. Nothing much happened then. I worked Friday and then went walking. I started having contractions but nothing terrible. They stopped shortly after my family left for the night. The next morning we got up did some errand running. We had a wedding to go to so I cut my husbands hair and went to the bathroom. Once I wiped I instantly knew something was up. My water had broke. We loaded up and headed to the hospital where they confirmed my water had broke. Once I was in the room and set up we found out I was still at 2cm. They hooked me up to pitocin. I made it to 3 but she kept moving and we kept losing her heart beat. They double checked via ultrasound to make sure that she hadn’t filled. She didn’t thank goodness. They then upped my pitocin again. All the sudden as I hit 5cm I knew something was wrong. All the sudden my contractions went from 0 to 60. I asked for the epidural and they sent the request in. It’s about 11:30 at this point and we are almost 12 hours into labor. I was trying to get through the pain but looking back I probably sounded like a exorcism of Emily Rose. My nurse had just checked me and I went from 5 to 8 in 15 mins. Hence why I was in so much pain. The anesthesiologist came in and started prepping me for the epidural but I got another bad contraction and told my nurse I had to push. She said there was no way because she just checked me. At this point I am growling through the pain yelling I need to push. She put me on the bed and instantly sent the anesthesiologist out of the room and make my husband pull a cord out of the wall to alert the rest of the maternity ward that it was an emergency. SHE WAS CROWNING!! So she had me get on the bed and try to wait for the doctor. I couldn’t wait though! My body kept pushing her out without trying. I got the head out and she told me to stop for a second so she could unwrap the cord from her neck. Then told me to give one good push and she came all the way you! Soooo.....I gave all natural birth on accident but I am so happy I did. Now I know I am a rockstar and my beautiful girl had less to deal with after birth! I am so in love with her!!she really is my miracle baby!
